Everything you need to know for your holidays in the so-called Land of Open Spaces is summarized here. Making you anticipate your holiday adventures. If you have any further questions, we are happy to answer them personally.
Your room will be ready on the day of arrival by 3.00 pm. Earlier check-in is possible upon request and subject to availability. Please clear your room and pay your room bill until 11.00 am on the day of departure.
You can easily reach the train station Mellrichstadt from the North via Erfurt or from the South via Würzburg. From there a 20-minute walk takes you to our hotel. Of course, we can also pick you up at the train station for a little fee of € 5,-. Please inform us about your wishes upon booking.
Due to the high demand, we recommend you to book your treatments well in advance. You can contact us by email or call our reception. We cannot guarantee that a slot will be free upon short notice. Please do not swap appointments with others, as they are tied to special rooms and staff members. Please inform us about any changes you would like to make.
Hotel Sturm is not a handicapped accessible accommodation. But almost all areas of the hotel are barrier free. With our lift the rooms in the main building, the restaurant and the Rhön Spa are accessible without using stairs.
You can pay your room bill in cash or with EC and Maestro Card. Of course, you can also transfer the amount in advance to our bank account.

You can rent Cube mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes.
The rental fees for our guests are:
- Cube- 29" mountain bike: half-day* € 10,- | full day € 15,-
- Cube StereoTyp electric mountain bike: half-day * € 20,- | full day € 30,-
(*half-day = return the bike until 1.00 pm or pick up at 2.00 pm)
You can take your dog with you, if you stay in one of our Rooms Tradition. For the accommodation of your dog, we charge a fee of € 12,- per dog/day (without food). Please also bring a blanket or basket for your four-legged friend. Your dog is not allowed in the Rhön Spa with wellness garden, in our swimming pond with relax area and the restaurant. You can find seating with your dog out of the eating times on our terrace or in the adjacent hotel garden.
At our hotel we offer free Wi-Fi. You receive the login details at our reception. Please silence your mobiles and tablets, with consideration of fellow guests, especially in the dining room and the Rhön Spa. Thank you for your understanding!
If you suffer from any allergies or food intolerances, please inform us upon booking. We gladly prepare a menu according to your needs. Please note that this can result in additional costs (due to extra work).
The spa area is open from Monday to Thursday from 11.00 am to 9.00 pm and from Friday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm.
The garden sauna and the House of Silence are open from Monday to Thursday from 2.00 – 7.00 pm and from Friday to Sunday from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.
We offer free parking spaces and an electric charging station free of charge for our guests.
Please do not smoke inside our Biohotel Sturm. You can smoke on our terraces and in the adjacent garden. Please consider our non-smoking guests – especially during meal times. If you smoke in your room we will charge a fee for the additional cleaning costs; or if necessary a fee for the non-occupation of the room.
We recommend a travel cancellation insurance. In many cases the travel insurance of our hotel is sufficient.

To prevent you from financial losses due to a cancellation, we offer you a simple and cheap solution with our travel insurance.
Fees
Our fees for a travel insurance with Hotel Sturm are connected to the total booking sum as follows:
- up to € 200,- booking sum / € 10,-
- up to € 500,- booking sum / € 21,-
- up to € 1000,- booking sum / € 38,-
- from € 1000,- booking sum / € 49,-
Free cancellation if
- you have an accident travelling to our house
- there are any complications during pregnancy
- unexpected, severe illness
- severe injury due to an accident
- death of a close relative
- severe loss of property, due to fire, storm or flood
Book your travel insurance in time
The booking and payment of your travel insurance has to be carried out until 14 days after your booking. Changes to your booking are considered as cancellations. The travel insurance is only valid for a special stay/date and not transferrable to another stay/later date. The remission of the cancellation fee is only possible, if the insurance fee was paid and after presentation of a written confirmation of the damage/illness by a doctor or official authority. Please note that this is a risk premium, that will not be refunded in any case.
Valid from January 1st, 2021:
We charge the following fees for cancellations, late arrival or early departure:
- until 7 days prior to arrival: free of charge
- from 6 days prior to arrival: 70 % of the total booking price
Of course, we try to occupy your room with other guests. If we are successful we don’t charge a fee.
Children up to two years sleep in the parents‘ bed free of charge. For children staying in the double room with two full-paying adults or in the single room with one full-paying adult in a cot or extra bed we charge the following fees:
- up to 2 years: € 19,-
- from 3 – 6 years: € 39,-
- from 7 – 14 years: € 59,-
All prices are per night/child including half-board.

The contract is considered as concluded when a room is booked or promised or, should a promise be no more valid for time reasons, already provided for occupation. The conclusion of the said contract of acceptance of a guest commits the contracted partner to fulfil the agreed contract, regardless of how long the contract has been concluded. The host as contracted party is obliged to conform with the legal regulations relating to the accommodation of guests. The guest for his part is legally required in the case where he/she does not take advantage of the contracted agreement to pay the agreed price or the usual price previously set down in this arrangement. The host will deduct what he has not spent in the agreement. The host is morally obliged not to keep back rooms, which have not been booked so as to be able to hire them out at future date, thus, where possible, avoiding cancellations. The guest is obliged to pay for the room as contractually agreed until such time as the room is hired out for use by another guest. If the terms are altered this has to be done in written form.
Everyone, who has ever been to our house, will know the answer. The purity of the water in our swimming pond and the sparkling and smooth sensation on the skin are unique experiences. And even in spring, autumn or winter – when the water seems to be too cold for swimming – it is the perfect cool down after a sauna visit. No chlorinated water can give us this feeling.
Children 12 years or older are welcome to our spa area.
